"We
don’t just sell automotive repair, we help you buy it."
Our
team is committed to a high quality of craftsmanship and customer
satisfaction. Owner Steven Turner has built his business, established
in 1990 in Whistler, B.C., on these fundamental principles.
As an employer he works to develop strong relationships with
his employees based on mutual respect, trust and co-operation.
The
successful candidate for our technician position, seasonal or
long-term, will be welcomed to join our AutoPro team.
Local Automotive is a general automotive repair shop with daily
challenges and rewards. To succeed in this demanding environment
technicians must be motivated, have excellent diagnostic skills
in electronics and be current with all aspects of automotive
repair.
You would be working in the facility with the most current diagnostic
equipment in Whistler and with a team committed to each other.
All technicians must have a valid B.C. driver’s licence.
It would also be an asset to have a provincial inspector’s
certificate and/or a propane gas inspector’s certificate.
Demonstrating a desire to stay current with today’s technology
through certification would clearly place an applicant at the
forefront for consideration.
Local
Automotive believes that all work and no play reduces productivity.
So we run our 10-hour shifts three off and four days on. The
shop is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Both flat rate and hourly wage are available depending on the
candidate’s skill and performance.
Having three days off offers employees great opportunities to
explore the incredible outdoor assets Whistler has to offer
year round. Not only is it the #1 destination ski resort, it
has been chosen, along with Vancouver to host the 2010 Winter
Olympic Games.
And
Whistler now entertains as many outdoor enthusiasts in the summer
as it does in the winter with its #1 rated mountain bike park,
kilometers of paved and wild bike trails, numerous lakes for
swimming and fishing and unsurpassed hiking trails and camping
spots.
Whistler caters to both the single and family life. There are
two excellent elementary schools and a high school, a great
recreation centre, several excellent child-friendly parks and
beaches, and numerous sports teams to join.
Whistler’s reputation as a place to enjoy fine food, great
entertainment, and a hip nightlife is well deserved.
Housing can be found in Whistler, with housing also available
in nearby Pemberton & Squamish. There are excellent resources
in the community to help people settle for the long-term. Short-term
accommodation is easily found.
