Steven Turner - Owner
Born in Deep Cove, Steven came to Whistler in 1981 as an eager apprentice looking for a challenge. As luck would have it, as so often happens in this resort, jobs were plentiful.

His first job was at the Gulf station, now the site of PetroCanada. As the years went by Steven sought other challenges at other repair facilities.

After working for all the other automotive repair shops in Whistler at the time Steven decided it was time to open his own business, naming it for the ‘Locals’ of Whistler, whom he had come to respect and call his friends.

Committed to staying in the valley and working in the automotive field Steven bought the building that houses Local Automotive.

As well as having his journeyman qualifications and interprovincial certification Steven is qualified to inspect out-of-province vehicles coming into B.C. He is fully trained in the use of the most up to date diagnostic tools used to diagnose today’s computer-controlled cars. An expert in four-wheel drive vehicles he also loves to look after today’s luxury cars and SUVs.
He is married with two kids and is excited to call Whistler home.
